The 8th Asia-Pacific Vegetarian Congress was held in Kathmandu, Nepal from March 10th to 11th. Everyone came to an end in a warm atmosphere. More than 20 delegates from China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, India and the United States representatives attended the two-day Asia-Pacific Vegfest, cultural performances, vegetarian stalls, and foods from different cultures. During the conference, representatives from various countries shared their opinions on health, environmental protection, animal protection, spiritual awakening, and business promotion. Issues with the world's vegetarian development are also discussed. Thanks to the strong support of the local government and newspapers nation-wide reported.
At the same time, representatives of the 8th Asia-Pacific Vegetarian Union were held in the National Meeting Hall on March 10 to discuss the role of the Asia-Pacific Vegetarian Union in the coming years and the actual development plans in Asian countries. The plans received positive feedback and support from all parties.
The next region will be Hong Kong where the 9th APVC to be held in 2019 . The Congress will be supported by all delegates from all countries. Hong Kong delegates will promise to hold a special Oriental cruise making use of the Hong Kong as a cosmopolitan city to promote sustainable and healthy lifestyle.
This year, all delegations from the General Assembly shared that in terms of health, Dr. Vythi from Malaysia and Dr. Sutiyaa from Indonesia shared the benefits of vegetarianism in medicine. Ms Daisy Li from Malaysia shared knowledge about the development of vegetarian products, Dr. from India. Sharing as Philip from the United States shared plans to establish a vegetarian healing ecology project. Representatives of the Hangzhou Vegetarian Association from the Mainland of China reported to the guests on the development of vegetarian diets in China in recent years and introduced plans to build Hangzhou into the Southeast Capital City, from Guangzhou. Ms. Lola Chen, Ms. Li Zhi, introduced to the guests the latest developments in the Chinese vegetarian market related to import, export and logistics, e-commerce and trade. Wu Yuelin, Chairman of the Hong Kong Fruit and Vegetable Association, introduced the cooperation between the Asia-Pacific Vegetarian Alliance and a Chinese Vegetarian Association.
Nepali officials’ representatives and ministers attending the conference and the chairman of the Asia-Pacific Vegetarian Coalition also issued certificates to the participating guests. Local winners of the Vegetarian Speech Contest held at the different levels of local students delivered wonderful speeches for the conference and received warm applause from the guests.
